Gandalf said this in the film version of The Hobbit, and it's attributed to Peter Jackson ~ it does not appear in Tolkien's book.
Here's the link to the scene where Gandalf responds to Galadriel:

There was a version of this quote that I had posted earlier but I recently found out that it was inaccurate ~ this is the correct one.
Someone recently told me that there's nothing we can do except to watch from the sidelines. This was the belief and conclusion that resulted from a discussion about the wanton despotic and oppressive actions of leaders on the world stage.
There's always something we can do when there is darkness....always. Especially when innocent lives are destroyed or lost. Prayer, meditation, sending Light, even refusing or rejecting their agendas. We are in a Free Will part of the Cosmos, and the fallen ones have engineered implied consent (eg. "Silence is consent") to be the modus operandi. At the very least, we can say NO.
Namarie! 💗
