Residents were left in awe after “rainbow clouds” lit up the skies in
Jonggol, Indonesia on Friday (May 1). The sight reportedly caused
traffic congestion as drivers stopped to capture it. Authorities say the
phenomenon is caused by sunlight interacting with tiny water droplets
in the air, creating iridescent colours within clouds. Cloud formations
such as towering cumulus seen in the videos can affect how the colours
appear.
I've also heard such clouds being called "Plasma Clouds".
